Following the success of Boost Access to Finance’s first Investment Academy this year, Cohort 2 will take place in early 2025.
The Investment Academy is aimed at ambitious Lancashire business leaders who are interested in taking on equity investment and want to understand more about funding pathways, key considerations, what pitfalls to avoid and securing the right investment for them.
Businesses are advised to attend the Investment Academy online overview event on January 8, 2025 which will help them understand what they will gain from the academy and give them a chance to register their interest in the service.
The purpose of this event is to provide a detailed overview of the programme and its benefits as well as an expert overview of the funding landscape.
This will include:

Understand cost reductions via tax benefits: Discover tax advantages available to both you and your investors.

Types of investors: Where they play and what they look for, what sources of funding to look for to support an equity raise.
IP and legal preparedness: Get insights into protecting your intellectual property and ensuring your business is legally compliant, strengthening your appeal to investors.
Investment proposition: What investors are (and are not) looking for and why.
Pitching with confidence: Develop a robust investment pitch deck that clearly communicates your business’s value and inspires the potential investor.
Tax benefits: Discover the tax advantages available to both you and your investors, helping to create an attractive financial case.
Mastering due diligence: Learn how to win the due diligence process by pre-empting challenges and addressing concerns that investors may raise.
The Investment Academy is delivered by Boost’s Access to Finance team (part of Lancashire County Council) who will work with public and private sector experts from across the Lancashire business community. Partners include:

Businesses who are interested in taking part in the Investment Academy are advised to attend the Investment Academy 2 overview event on January 8, 2025, where they will have an opportunity to submit an application for the programme.

Attending the Boost's Access to Finance Investment Academy has been very insightful and useful.
