Fast-growing medical products company CME Medical has drawn up an ambitious strategy for further dynamic expansion after taking part in the Lancashire Forum programme by Boost Business Lancashire.

Blackpool-based CME Medical has seen turnover more than double from £6.5m in 2009 to £15m in 2012.

The company, which employs 75 people, provides specialist portable infusion products that are used for pain management, palliative care, oncology, nutrition and other clinical applications.

Executive chairman Stephen Thorpe decided to take advantage of the Lancashire Forum programme, delivered by Lancaster University Management School to further develop his entrepreneurial and business leadership skills.

Stephen attended a series of networking sessions that enabled him to interact with other SME leaders as part of a strategic business improvement agenda. Stephen assessed his progress in relation to personal and professional goals, while a number of masterclasses featuring inspirational speakers complemented a highly integrated business support and development package.

Results

The Lancashire Forum sessions have helped to shape CME Medical’s strategy for 2014 and beyond. Stephen fully expects to see this reflected in tangible business performance benefits in the near future.
