A Leyland based manufacturer of bank, loyalty and gift cards has invested in new machinery that will help them take on an additional 10 staff, with support from a Government grant.
Nitecrest’s electronic cards can be personalised with the brands of their clients and other imagery. The firm has invested in new production machinery that will enable them to increase outputs of the personalised cards by over a third, helping them take on additional orders and increase their staff level.
Nitecrest received a partial grant of just under £70,000 for the new machinery through Regenerate Pennine Lancashire. The grant was supported by the Government’s Regional Growth Fund.
Barry Pearson, Project Manager at Nitecrest, said: “The proposed investment will enable us to win more business from overseas and retain existing clients. The grant from Regenerate helped us invest and reach this point sooner, helping us to become more competitive in the world market.”
“We can now also offer an online service where smaller businesses can order personalised cards in smaller batches.”
In addition to the 10 new jobs, the project has safeguarded 6 others at the company.
Hugh Roberts, Deputy Director at Regenerate, said: “Grants from our Regional Growth Fund programmes help businesses across Lancashire with their growth plans and have helped Nitecrest create new opportunities for people in Leyland.”
There are grants available for eligible growth-hungry Lancashire-based businesses ranging from £5,000 up to £1million. The grants can support capital investment projects that will stimulate growth, leverage additional investment from other sources and create jobs.
