Practical Exporting Session

April 23, 2024

09:30 - 12:30

Hyndburn

East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce

The importance of understanding and correctly completing export documentation is crucial for any business trading internationally. The delay of getting the goods to your customer seriously effects your reputation and the increased costs have an influence on your profit margins.

The country or customer requirements need to be recognised before an order is accepted, as some form of documentation will be required even if you sell on an ex works basis. HM Revenue and Customs will require evidence of removal and the mandatory obligations are not to be ignored even if the procedure is outsourced.

PROGRAMME

09:15 - Assembly and coffee

09:30 - Overview of payment terms available for exporters and a look at Incoterms® 2020

10:00 - Overview of HM Revenue and Customs, why are the tariff and commodity codes so important, what are the systems and documents produced by HMRC and what is the evidence of removal, why are goods and services controlled leaving the UK

11:00 - The role of the Export Agent, Freight Forwarder and the information you need to supply. Export documents required for your customer

TESTIMONIAL

"After attending the session at East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce I found that my understanding of International documents had improved greatly. Providing correct documents that are correctly completed for export shipments to both European and Non-European countries is now a lot easier thanks to the knowledge passed on in the days session" Scott Carter – MTS Medication Technologies Limited
