You will learn the power of translation to boost your profile and sales in export markets and understand how legal, regulatory and commercial content should be translated work with translation professionals and companies in partnership.

People buy in their own language, and translation is one of the fastest ways to unlock serious ROI on your export journey. Translation is often a legal requirement to enter a regulated market but it is also one of the easiest ways to get ahead on your export journey, with research showing that 9 out of 10 global users will ignore your product if it’s not in their native language.

So how can you deploy language capabilities to open doors for trade?

This session will equip you with the knowledge and skills to use the power of translation to boost your profile and sales in export markets, understand what needs to be translated and how, and how to go about sourcing professional translation services.

Speakers

Raisa McNab, CEO, Association of Translation Companies. Raisa McNab steers the UK’s Association of Translation Companies, the leading voice for over 220 language service companies providing translation, interpreting and other language services to businesses across the world. She is also the ATC’s Lead on Standards, driving adoption and certification to ISO standards and industry best practice. Raisa’s experience as a language services production, quality and development manager have given her a deep insight into the language services industry and the needs of businesses in a changing global landscape.

Sarah Bawa Mason, Commercial Collaborations Lead, Association of Translation Companies. Sarah leads on promoting collaboration and business opportunities between the ATC’s member companies and local and national business organisations, associations and communities. Sarah is a practising translator specialising in Latin American Spanish, a Senior Lecturer in Translation Studies at the University of Portsmouth, and an all-round advocate of the value of cultural awareness and the power of communication when it comes to international export success.
