The Ignite Start-up Sessions are perfect for aspiring entrepreneurs, particularly those based in East Lancashire, who are passionate about their high-growth potential ideas but need a 'boost' to get started.

If you're ready to take action, committed to attending four intensive workshops over two weeks, and eager to develop the skills needed to launch and grow your business, this workshop is for you. These sessions are designed for individuals who are motivated to move quickly and turn their business concepts into reality. Participants will engage in four hands-on, action-oriented workshops that cover key elements of starting a business.

Over two weeks, attendees will gain:

  • Insights into refining and pitching business ideas 
  • Personal SWOT analysis and growth potential assessment 
  • Structuring a business and defining operational needs 
  • Marketing strategies and financial planning fundamentals 
  • Development of a SMART growth action plan By the end of the sessions, entrepreneurs will have a clear plan and the tools to begin trading, with ongoing support options available for those who need it. 

The sessions will run from 9:30 to 12:30 on:

  • Week 1: Wednesday 27th November – In-person and Thursday 28th November - Online 
  • Week 2: Tuesday 3rd December - Online and Wednesday 4th December – In-person 

This series of workshops is delivered by Selnet, on behalf of Boost’s Flying Start service and being presented by Boost business advisers Chris Trickett, Lynn Trickett, and the team at CVS.

Chris is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and Institute of Consulting and offers a contemporary, process-driven approach, including strategic troubleshooting, and practical tips to enhance sustainability and commercial success. 

Lynn is also a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and qualified business adviser with a distinguished 24-year record in facilitating business support contracts. She has extensive expertise in working with new and growth businesses across multiple sectors.

The Flying Start service is for early-stage businesses that have traded for less than three years, and aspiring individuals with a great business idea. It is aimed at leaders who have a bright and growing vision for their new business. The service focusses on building business and financial acumen and the core skills to establish a new business and drive sustainable growth.

This service is available to businesses within the following partner local authority areas: Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, Burnley Council, Chorley Council, Fylde Council, Hyndburn Borough Council, Pendle Borough Council, Preston City Council, South Ribble Borough Council, West Lancashire Borough Council and Wyre Council.
