Growth Mentoring Week: Meet the mentors

In many of our mentoring blogs we’ve always talked about the calibre of mentors that business owners can access through Boost Business Lancashire. To prove it, we thought it would be useful to give you an insight into the experience and wide-ranging business expertise at our disposal.

So here’s a snapshot of the vast amount of experience you could have access to through Boost Business Lancashire. 

Sandy Morrison

Sandy is a former CEO of Lipton Ltd a £180m turnover tea purchasing and trading company and Unilever plc subsidiary. With over 20 years’ experience as a senior executive he has worked across the globe with responsibility for general management, global supply chain management and research and development

He is a leader and proven ‘change agent’, focusing on creating an effective strategy and building and motivating teams. He has been a non-executive director of a FTSE-listed pharmaceutical business since June 2006. 

Caroline Hampson

Caroline gained over 20 years’ experience with Mars Chocolate, part of Mars Incorporated, working in a wide variety of roles within the sales division with responsibility for many of the major grocery multiples. She has a wealth of experience in leadership, sales and line management where she used coaching extensively to build and motivate a very successful sales division.

Caroline has been running her own coaching business for over two years working with a wide range of organisations and individuals, including one-to-one coaching, leadership development and bespoke training. 

Louise Mather

Louise is a versatile, commercially-focused learning and development and HR manager with particular specialism and experience in L&D, leadership, management development and change management.

She has worked in senior positions for Guardian Media Group PLC, United Utilities, Chubb Security and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service. One of her last projects was working in a public authority on a leadership development project to support a restructure and culture change process.

Hamish Hamilton

Hamish is a hands on Chartered Accountant with significant tenures and a proven track record in highly-respected and fast-growing entrepreneurial companies. He has demonstrated an ability to build strong relationships with banks and venture capitalists.

His career history involves working on major projects for names such as Pure Leisure Group, Morris Group, Husco International and PricewaterhouseCoopers. 

Peter Cloney

Peter is the former managing director of Blackburn-based Precision Polymer Engineering, overseeing a business with annual revenues of £26m, 230 employees and exporting to countries across the globe.

A fluent German speaker, he now runs his own business consultancy specialising in assisting owner managers of SMEs with a turnover of £0.5m to £15m.
