Boost Q&A: Suzi Wynne, Wynne Business

Suzie Wynne qa1

Suzi Wynne is the founder of Wynne Business Ltd. Established in 2012, her team provides professional sales development and marketing support for SME’s looking to launch products into multiple retailers. In 2021 Suzi delivered Lancashire County Council’s backed Two Zero Route to Retail – a commercial scaleup programme to help fast-growing Lancashire food and drink businesses sell to supermarkets and major retailers. Suzi shares her business inspirations, the Boost support she received and why Lancashire is a great place to do business.

What support did you receive from Boost and how has it helped you and your business?

I received 12 hours of mentoring support back in 2020. It was at a time when I was looking to scale up my business and was looking for some external support and advice to help drive my business forward. Personally, I also think having a mentor is about being held responsible for the goals and plans that you make. My mentoring sessions started in January just before Covid-19. My mentor was pivotal in helping me trade through the pandemic.

What piece of advice stood out the most during your Boost support?

We spent a lot of time on the value proposition of Wynne Business and how we can really deliver for our clients and really understand our clients’ needs and wants.

Who has been your biggest business inspiration and why?

There are lots female and male role models in the public eye, but for me it’s the entrepreneurs and owner/founders I get to work with. The persistence you need to make it, the risks you have to take and the creativity to develop those unique products is pretty inspirational.

What motivates you in business and why?

The opportunity to make a difference. To help clients grow their business, get the product they have been working on for years onto supermarket shelves. I also enjoy being a conduit for clients to employ more people and to make major moves such as getting bigger premises.

How do you like to start your working day?

Definitely need to start my day with a coffee. Twice a week I do an early morning spin class which really helps energise me for the day.

Why is Lancashire a great location for a business?

My client base is all over the country but without a doubt my Lancashire clients can access the most amount of support. Lancashire is my adopted county and the business community here is amazing.

What would you say to someone who is considering using Boost?

Absolutely go for it. Sign up, subscribe, there are many fully funded webinars and support services you can access.

What is your advice for anyone looking to grow a business?

Get a Boost Growth mentor, create a really robust business plan and if you are looking to scale up follow Two Zero to see what programmes you can access.
