Boost Q&A: Kath Lord-Green, Voice It PR

Boost QA Kath Lord Green Voice It PR

Kath Lord-Green is the founder of Voice It PR, providing podcasts for businesses from planning and recording through to production and publication, including associated project management and PR services. She joined Boost's Flying Start programme in early 2022 at the start of her new business venture. As a founder of a new business Kath shares her thoughts with Boost and offers advice for new entrepreneurs.

What support did you receive from Boost and how has it helped you and your business?

I joined the Boost Flying Start programme when starting out on my new venture. Boost gave me access to a fantastic support coach who gave me the clarity I needed around my new-start up and gave me access to lots of free programmes from marketing to finance.

What piece of advice stood out the most during your Boost support?

Thinking about growth from day one . . . it changes your mindset from being a solopreneur to setting goals to either outsource work or employing people in your business at an early stage!

Who has been your biggest business inspiration and why?

All the Boost attendees to be honest! I love being on the sessions either online or in person. Everyone has a story to tell, their journey and they are all so inspiring. We “boost” each other, we help and advise each other (we can all learn from others) and we can collaborate even at the start up stage. It’s really inspirational seeing all the different business ideas growing week on week!

What motivates you in business and why?

I’m passionate about people and their stories and I’m motivated to do the things I love doing – and to make a business out of that is my perfect scenario.

How do you like to start your working day?

I go for a walk every morning with my dog in the woods behind my house. I always then practice gratitude during my walk in nature and thank god/universe for what I have. It’s a great way to start your day on a positive note.

Why is Lancashire a great location for a business?

Lancashire is so collaborative and diverse. I was born here and came back nine years ago and have made hundreds of business connections. It’s central to everywhere else too and has great towns and stunning rural locations within easy reach.

What would you say to someone who is considering using Boost?

Go for it! Seriously you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Even if you’ve previously had a business or think you won’t learn anything – YOU WILL! You are kept on the right track, you make great connections and improve your business knowledge.

What is your advice for anyone looking to grow a business?

Connect with everyone! Network everywhere and don’t be afraid to “put yourself out there”. Use social media and ask for help when you need it! AND join a Boost programme – obviously!

Would you like to see your business grow? So would we. To speak to someone from the Growth Hub about business support, contact Boost online or call 0800 488 0057.
