Transformative healthy leadership for Lancashire businesses
We are here to inspire entrepreneurs and organisational leaders to take control of their health and wellbeing to promote improved personal and team performance, providing practical know-how and guidance to demystify mental and physical wellbeing, resulting in increased levels of confidence, self-awareness, and enhanced performance.
Physical and mental wellbeing go hand in glove, and the behaviour of business leaders influences their employees, and ripples throughout their organisation.
Set an example to your employees and be a Healthy Leader; challenge negative habits and behaviours to improve employee satisfaction; the result will be greater focus, commitment, and loyalty. Increase your bottom-line performance as a result of the way your culture ticks rather than increasing overheads
Face-to-face mentoring and coaching
Philip Dyer is a highly experienced business mentor and coach and has a business career which has spanned over 30 years and a broad range of sectors. Whatever the business sector his focus has always been people, identifying the barriers to personal growth and development and how these impact on organisational aspirations and ambition.
Whilst Philip’s experience extends to international businesses, his passion lies with owner managed businesses; often referred to as the backbone of the British economy.
Philip was the first Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Central Lancashire and held an Honorary Teaching Fellow position at Lancaster University Management School, and is a regular presenter on the topic of wellbeing.
Philip also combines physical and mental wellbeing as a critical part of the business growth process; having seen too many negative examples of the impact of running your own business – excessive stress; lack of time – his emphasis is on taking care of the best assets you will ever own – your brain and your body!
In response to an overwhelming need, Philip founded Healthy Leaders in 2018 – focusing on wellbeing to increase productivity and performance.
Philip is a former black belt in Karate and British Karate Champion (1977); making physical wellbeing a lifestyle choice, his last competitive endeavours were in the international sport of indoor rowing, achieving runner up in the European Championships in January 2019, and a credible fifth place in the World Championships in California – February 2019.

As you go through the process, you will encounter the distillation of decades of experience presented in an accessible way; reducing time pressure and the need to hunt through reams of text, the philosophy of the Healthy Leaders Academy is to ensure that we bring you that important blend of current thinking and practical experience.
The ultimate end goal being that you will improve your overall personal and/or team productivity and performance whilst ensuring that you do not compromise your selfcare, the care of your team, or your organisation. Healthy Leaders are leading the way; enjoy becoming a Healthy Leader.
What makes the programme so effective?
The principles of the Healthy Leaders programme are inspired by two truths:
Our holistic approach to improving health looks at the individual and the organisation as a whole and incorporates physical health, mental health, and nutrition.

What one top tip would you give to a business owner embarking on a growth plan?
Before embarking on any journey it makes sense to truly, fully understand where you are starting from. And I don’t just mean the rudiments of business; I am referring to you as a leader – what is your physical and mental state?
Do you understand what the impact of your intended journey will be on you? If you were about to run a marathon, you would not set off just because you had the right kit on and a water bottle – you would prepare for your arduous task with months if not years of practice. Increase your chances of success and understand your point of departure.
Why is Lancashire a great place to grow a business?
My business activities have given me the opportunity to travel the length and breadth of the UK and gain some memorable international experience too. However, as the old expression goes – home is where the heart is.
This vibrant and friendly part of the country called Lancashire is the place to be.
