CITB is the Industry Training Board for the construction industry and a partner in ConstructionSkills, the Sector Skills Council for construction. It’s our job to work with industry to encourage training, which helps build a safe, professional and fully qualified workforce.

Our mission is to attract and support the development of people to construct a better Britain, and our vision is For British construction to have a recognised, world-class, innovative approach to developing its workforce to deliver quality in the built environment. We do this by focusing on our priorities, which are Training & Development, Standards & Qualifications, and Careers.

The support and funding we provide helps companies to improve skills, increase their competitiveness and respond to challenges such as the low carbon agenda, reducing costs on site and recruiting the best talent for their sector. Through our Grants Scheme and Funding, we’re able to support a wide range of training and development needs within the construction industry, from apprenticeships and entry level qualifications, to upskilling and degrees.

We take a leadership role for the industry, addressing skills challenges through our business plan and vision. We work in partnership with a wide range of businesses and stakeholders across Lancashire.
