Boost is Lancashire’s Business Growth Hub, one of 37 Growth Hubs in the UK. Boost is led by Lancashire County Council and has supported over 14,000 businesses, helped create over 3,500 jobs while adding over £100m to the economy since 2013.

Why are we here?

As a Growth Hub, we are on a mission; to help Lancashire businesses thrive.

Our support helps ambitious Lancashire businesses start, grow and scale, realising their growth potential, creating jobs and boosting the economy.

 

We do this by:

  • Bringing together and simplifying the local, regional and national support landscape, helping people in business find the right business support at the right time.
  • Providing a range of funded business support services delivered by specialists
  • Connecting Lancashire’s business community and creating a catalyst for rewarding relationships.
  • Working collaboratively across the private and public sectors to help businesses unlock the barriers to growth

What does Boost deliver?

Through the Growth Hub, businesses and their leaders get access to the following support:

  • Business Support Helpdesk which gives businesses a comprehensive guide to available local, regional and national business support programmes
  • Business Advice Service, which includes a 360 Business Review, Business Support Action Plan and priority access to business clinics and events
  • Growth support through our Growth Catalyst service
  • Scaleup support through our Scale to Thrive service
  • Startup support through our Flying Start service
  • An Access to Finance service helping businesses find and secure finance and funding
  • Guidance on what private sector business support is available and access to other relevant networks and membership groups
  • A dedicated business adviser that will keep in contact with you during your growth journey
  • Information on useful events in Lancashire
  • Access to regular tips, advice and inspiration through our website

What businesses are eligible for Boost?

Our Growth Hub services and programmes are available to individuals thinking about starting a business, and trading businesses with an ambition to grow and create a thriving business.

The Business Support Helpdesk is available to all businesses across Lancashire.

The Business Advice Service, Flying Start, Growth Catalyst, Scale to Thrive and Access to Finance programmes are available to businesses within the following partner local authority areas: Blackburn with Darwen Council, Burnley Council, Chorley Council, Fylde Council, Hyndburn Borough Council, Pendle Borough Council, Preston City Council, South Ribble Borough Council, West Lancashire Borough Council and Wyre Council.

Who delivers Boost?

Boost is led and administered by Lancashire County Council. Our Business Support Helpdesk and Business Advice Service is delivered by Growth Lancashire. Our Flying Start service is delivered by Selnet, while the Growth Company delivers our Growth Catalyst and Scale to Thrive services. Our Central Marketing is managed by Freshfield.
